We, the undersigned professional dubbing voice actors, are proud to unite as a community. Collectively, we have for decades created quality foreign language dubbing content that expands the worldview and imagination for many audiences and fans who would not be able to access these productions otherwise. Demand for foreign language dubbing is at an all-time high. With more and more content coming into this booming industry, the fan base has expanded and changed, and the large community of professional dubbing voice actors it has created has never been more committed to high quality work.

All actors deserve fair pay and benefits as well as the transparency necessary to make the best choices for their careers. As this industry continues to change and grow, we believe it is important that we have a meaningful voice in shaping it. Expanding union coverage will provide a collective voice to do just that. We encourage our employers to work with SAG-AFTRA and, in so doing, send a message that they value the creative individuals who help bring countless characters to life and create extraordinary experiences for audiences around the world. Further, we believe that a formal collective bargaining process, just like the one used by professional actors in parallel industries, is the best way to ensure that our input is meaningful and has a long lasting impact.

We encourage studios to sit down with SAG-AFTRA in the near future in order to create fair professional standards that make sense — not only for us, but for the benefit of the dubbing industry as a whole. We are confident that our SAG-AFTRA representatives will work with industry leaders, as they have with so many others, to make this a positive process that benefits actors, companies and audiences.
